BEL-AIR HOSPITAL, PANCHGANI

In 1994 MCBS took up the administration of Bel-Air Hospital, which was at the verge of a closure due to various problems. It is a major health care project in the country and the biggest centre of HIV/AIDS care and treatment in India. Currently Bel-Air is a multi specialty 240 bedded general hospital and runs a college of nursing with the collaboration of the University of Illinois at Chicago (USA) which is the first nursing program in India with an American University Collaboration. Bel-Air is also a training centre for Doctors and Nurses in HIV approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Fr. Tomy K MCBS is Director of Bel-Air and Fr. Jipson Kolattukudy is the Administrator. Fr. Benny Nirappel is working as the Project Coordinator. Sisters of the Destitute (S.D) and Jesus Mary Joseph (JMJ) sisters work in Bel-Air.
